What's Going On?

Hey! Hey! You! You!
I don't like your girlfriend!
No way No way!
I think you need a new one
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I could be your girlfriend

I love this song, don’t get me wrong. It’s catchy and all but apa telah happen to Avril Lavigne? She’s wearing make-up and *gasp* a skirt now! I know she got married and all but seriously, does marriage really change the way a person dress up or behave?

Let’s take another example. Remember Alanis Morrissette? Remember how angst she was when she came out with her 1st album? She sounded so angry and against the world kinda person. Remember how good her songs were back then? I mean, who could forget the songs like “Ironic” and “You Oughta Know”?

Alanis went from this…

It was a slap in the face how quickly I was replaced
Are you thinking of me when you fuck her

To THIS!

Thank you India
Thank you providence
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you nothingness
Thank you clarity
Thank you thank you silence

Don’t get me wrong. I still think she’s one of the best female songwriter ever but she’s not so angry anymore, you know what I mean?

Have a good weekend people! I’m watching Ocean’s 13 tomorrow nite. Woohhoooo! I LOVE YOU BRAD PITT! *Drool*

Of Muffins and a Wedding

I had a very productive weekend. As oppose to every other weekend where hubby and I just stayed home and watched dvds that we had bought months ago but still hasn’t gotten around to watching them.

On Saturday afternoon, I took my cousin, niece and nephew to watch Shrek3 at Cineleisure. I prefer the 1st and 2nd one though. This time around Puss and Donkey didn’t have many scenes, which is a waste coz I thought Charming was boring. Justin Timberlake as Artie was okay I guess but I’d prefer to see more of Puss and Donkey. Baby Ogre and baby Dronkey were so cute!

Then Saturday night, hubby and I went to Careforre to look for a cheap magazine rack. We found the rack no thanks to the sales people there. I tell you, it’s the same everywhere. Why hire salespersons when they don’t know where everything is suppose to be? If I have to find every single thing myself, I might as well work there, you know?! There were only 2 colours available, white and pink so obviously I chose pink.

My new pink coloured magazine rack

Anyway, since we’ve watched every single so-called blockbuster movie there is, we decided to be more cultured and watched this French movie called Priceless or “Hors de Prix” starring Amelie Tautou. I think they censored quite a number of scenes which is so bloody annoying (what’s new?). But thank god for Amelie Tautou! She’s such a good actress and one hot chick but she’s too skinny la. Bones everywhere. If I were a man I’d go for curvaceous looking chick like Salma Hayek or Eva Mendez.

Sunday morning I decided to test my cooking skills by baking muffins. The first batch came out really terrible coz the muffins looked “senget”. Seriously. Tinggi sebelah okay. But hubby said they tasted good in spite of how they looked so I tried baking another batch and they turned out pretty good. So maybe I’m going to start baking some more and bring them to the office for my colleagues.

My yummy muffins..or so says hubby...

Sunday night I attended a friend’s wedding at Singgahsana Hotel. Congrats to Shasi & Vasantha! They met through Friendster too. Hihihi…Eh, you single people out there, if you don’t have a friendster account, open one and soon you too will find your mate...errmm..maybe...

Word of caution: Please don’t put pictures of you in a tight spaghetti dress or a bikini ‘coz you may attract a different crowd. The perverted ones I mean.

The food at the wedding was excellent. It was from this caterer called “Little Caterers”. I can’t remember the names of the dishes though. Indian weddings are very festive, aren’t they? If you’re a guest there is no way you can upstage an Indian bride coz their gowns are bright and so glittery. What is an Indian wedding without the very energetic dancers? The Indian dances were okay but one off thing was when the dancers danced to “Let’s Get It Started” by the BEP and they were wearing army outfits! *Shudder*
