Happy New Year!

Aaahhh...2007...it's one helluva year.
I got married to a wonderful man.
I love my husband so much. Sometimes I think I may be too harsh on him but I hope he knows that I love him deeply and that I am trying to be a good wife. I thank god I have such wonderful in-laws too.
I got a promotion.
Got hooked on this wonderful thing called Facebook. From FB, I found most of my ex-SMDJ schoolmates.
Had the opportunity to see Gwen Stefani (best performance ever), Shaggy, Whitney Houston (more like Britney Houston...thank god I didn't pay for the tickets) and My Chemical Romance (also got free tickets...hehehe...life is good!) in concert.
Next year we can look forward to Incubus, Celine Dion and Maroon 5!
Watched P. Ramlee The Musical. I thought it was a really good show. Cried few times too.
Said goodbye to some friends who had to leave the country to follow their husbands to US, Sudan, Dubai and Qatar. We miss you Rina. It's not the same without you here.
Nurin Jazlin Jazimin's tragedy.
HINDAF and BERSIH.
The demise of my grand-aunt.
It's always good to reflect on what you have done for the past 11 months and 16 days. I have to say it's been a very good year for me. I'm still trying to get pregnant. Trying very hard. I try not to let it get to me when I'm unsuccessful but I believe Allah knows best.
Dear Friends,
I wish you guys a great and Happy New Year. I will be spending new year in Kuching with hubby and in-laws. Anyone nak pesan kek lapis?
For my Muslim friends, Selamat Hari Raya AidilAdha!
For my Christian friends, I wish you Merry Christmas!
I have a question for you guys. What sacrifices have you made this year? Was it worth it?
In 15 days we will be saying goodbye to 2007 and welcoming 2008. Are you guys looking forward to it? I know I am :-))

Dedicated to the Design Diva, Mr. Ifzan Ibrahim

I have a friend.

My friend is very famous.

Everyone knows him.

Because he is a camera whore.

He loves to pose in front of the camera.

Maybe because he is soooooo good looking.

He was featured in the newspaper and magazine.

The Star and Marie Claire.

That’s how famous he is.

They call him the “design diva”.

I wonder if you can use the word “diva” to describe a guy.

Maybe for him it’s an exception because he is soooooo cool.

He is very creative. Loves to doodle.

He is also my Facebook buddy.

I like him because he doesn’t poke me in FB.

My famous friend’s name is Ifzan Ibrahim

I feel so honoured to have a famous friend like Ifzan Ibrahim.

I think after this he may make his blog “private”.

Because he will be receiving fan mails. And comments from his female stalkers.

Maybe these women wants him for his body.

This entry is dedicated to Ifzan Ibrahim.

My friend…the Design Diva.

Long live Ifzan Ibrahim.

p/s : Theta, will do your tag next ya :P
pp/s ; Don't ask me what's the story behind this post. It's only between me, my FB buddies and Mr. Design Diva.

Of Soothing Voice and Cruisin' Songs

I love Colbie Caillat.

She’s got a very soothing voice.

Listening to her makes me feel all Bubbly and warm inside. Doesn’t help when her lyrics go something like this…

…It starts in my toes and I crinkle my nose
Where ever it goes I always know
That you make me smile please stay for a while now
Just take your time where ever you go…

It’s funny how a song could affect a person so much. It could influence your state of being. When I listen to this song, my mind went back to the very first time I saw my husband. He was at the airport and I was there to pick him up. I was so nervous. I kept thinking, “What if he’s dead ugly?” or “what if he smelled like a skunk?” Thank god he wasn’t dead ugly and he smelled really nice. When I saw him that day I smiled. Smiled like an idiot. Felt all tingly inside.

Anyways, yeah back to the songs that could influence ones feelings. When I listen to Sunday Morning by Maroon 5 it made me feel like everyday is a Sunday. It relaxes me and it made me feel like I’m cruising in a convertible along the beach coast. Incidentally, Maroon 5 is coming for a concert here. I don’t know exactly when but a friend of mine is the organiser for the concert and I told him I want a backstage pass. Heh…Adam Levine is simply divine.

When you’re feeling sad and depressed, I suggest you listen to these songs. A real pick-me-upper :

- K.T. Tunstall’s Suddenly I See
- Carly Simon’s Let The River Run
- Pink Martini’s Sympathique
- Kanye West’s Stronger
- Lily Allen’s Alfie
- Mika’s Lollipop (some may find this song annoying...haha…I hated the singer because
of his ridiculous looking hair but the song is quite catchy. Should give it a try); and
- Last but certainly not least…Will.I.Am’s I Got It From My Momma!

If you going on a holiday, especially if you’re going to a beach make sure you have all the songs above in your IPod. Gerenti Gegarrr punya!

Whipped Cream Anyone?

If there ever was such a magazine, I would burn down the publication house.
Come on lah...are there men out there who feels like they've been whipped or are currently being whipped??? We WOMEN are not that selfish and inconsiderate la. Just because you had to miss one live football match on tv to attend an open house or a family function, it doesnt mean you're whipped!! Please don't get the concept wrong.
We let you play whatever sports you enjoy playing with your friends like futsal, soccer, badminton and paintball. For the record snooker, pool and billiard are not real sports. Bukannya berpeluh pun. It's a fun thing to do with your friends, we get it. We dont stop you from going out to play pool with your friends when you want to. We just want you to remember that you're there solely to play pool with your friends. Jangan nak mengada tolong ajar minah2 kat situ main pool. Konon good samaritan la. Boleh blah!
We let you stay up late with your friends at HQ or mamak joints to watch football (plus you get to ogle women too when your're there kay, don't think we don't know) and we don't complain. We close one eye when you ogle at those tight asses coz we know boys will be boys. Looking is okay as long as you dont act on your "merenyam"ness. If you understand that then everything is cool.
And another thing, what is wrong with helping out around the house? This is not the 60s or 70s when men just sit in front of the tv and read newspaper. Why is it when men help their wives out with chores around the house, other men will say that these men are whipped? Why can't you lazy men compliment these helpful men and try to be like them?
I do agree that some women are control freaks and can be a QC but then again some men can be real pain in the ass and have mentality of a 5 year old. That's why we women need to be in control sometimes. I've heard of friends who complained that their husband can't even decide what to wear and need their wife to lay down the outfit for them on the bed. So please kay, the next time you think your wife is a control freak, you men need to think why she became that way.

To bare or not to bear

Okay, so I am obsessed about Angelina Jolie. I downloaded all her pictures and they’re my screensavers. Hubby knows this and he has no problem with it. He’s more of Jessica Alba’s fan (honestly I don’t know why because I think Jolie is waaay hotter than Alba).

So anyway, I download all my songs from BearShare and if any of you guys ever used BearShare then you would know that you can also chat with other “pirates” who uses that programme. Since I am obsessed with Jolie, I used this profile picture for my BearShare account.

It was not meant to attract men but somehow when you put that picture in your profile you get all sorts of messages from all types of men, mostly perverts. Messages like “Whoaaa! Ure so sexy la. Boleh berkenalan?” or there’s this one nick called “Batangbesar” (yeah right!!!) who messaged me and said “7 inch, tak tipu”…like yeah, even if you tipu I wouldn’t know, right? Some of these people actually thought it was me and not Jolie. Like hellooooo??? Duduk bawah tempurung issit sampai tak kenal Angelina Jolie??!

Everytime I get a message, hubby would look annoyed and he would say, “Gatal punya mamat. Takder keja ke?” Hehehe…

Of course I would never reply any of the messages but I have to admit some of the messages were funny. It’s funny because of the way it was written i.e. so corny and “gatal-like” I wonder if any girl would actually reply these kind of messages.

I think I may need to change my profile photo soon because when I woke up this morning I saw 15 messages from men as young as 17 and as old as 43 asking me whether they can “berkenalan” with me. Sigh…Susah betul jadi hot chick ni… Ahaks!!

Future Heartbreakers

Let's start with my 5 month old niece, Fisyah. Check out her cheeks! She looks Japanese/Korean a bit, don't you think so?

Next, my almost 3 year old nephew, Hareez. The apple of my eye, my favourite "anak buah" coz I took care of him since he was 3 months old. Did you know he was in that disposable diaper advertisement, "Pet pet"? Yup, he was the baby who peed on the dad. He proudly showed his tiny finger who got injured because he had stuck it in between the cupboard's sliding door. Ouch!! Tulah, notty sangat!

Below are my cousins, Syamil and Faiz. They are best cousins forever, or so they say. They even wrote a song about it!

This is my gorgeous 7 year old niece, Puteri Iffa. Major future heartbreaker I reckon. Honestly, my brother is not that handsome and errmmm my SIL pun not that pretty but somehow my niece turns out to be a looker. Hehehe...

Below is my cousin Durrani. I call her Nani.

Another cousin of mine. His name is Wildan. I pity the kid. When he grows up he's gonna get teased so much because if his name. "Well done, Wildan!" Get it?! Tongue twister that one.

These are half of my camera-crazed cousins. Pantang tengok camera. Posing memanjang.

So how was your Hari Raya?

Selamat Hari Raya & Maaf Zahir Batin

I can't believe it's the 23rd day of Ramadhan already. Time flies so fast. In 7 days we will be celebrating Eid ul' Fitri. I know I said i will be celebrating Raya in Kuching but plans changed at the very last minute. Hubby got a new job and he's not entitled to any leave. Poor baby. Looks like I'm not gonna be the one crying this year. He already told me to brace myself in case he broke down on the 1st day of Raya. So I have to keep lotsa tissue paper in my handbag then in case dam pecah. I'll be celebrating raya with my family in Sg. Petani. Can't wait.

Oh and I can't believe it's October already. My boss has been hounding us to complete our Staff Performance Management System (SPMS) forms. Yes it's that time of the month. The month where we're supposed to identify whether we have closed all our competency gaps. I hate doing SPMS because at the end of the day you won't be rewarded for the hard work that you did for the past 10 months, instead the people who will be getting big fat bonusses are those who kisses the boss' asses. It's the same everywhere I suppose. Those who works hard quietly will not be noticed and justly compensated compared to those who pretends to work hard and tells the whole world how hard they work. Now those kinda people will get 6 months bonus. Sheesh! The world ain't fair kan?

Last weekend I visited Asrama Penyayang Nur Iman, an orphanage in Tmn Ibukota Gombak with a bunch of friends. The caretaker of the home is Ustazah Sharimah. Ustazah Sharimah started the home in 2004 and it is privately funded. The Ustazah said that the number of children who were dropped off at the home has increased over the years. There are folks who came all the way from Kedah to leave the kids with her. The youngest is a 2 month old baby and the eldest are 16 year olds. Overall there were 62 kids, boys and girls. There are 3 babies in the house (all girls) and the babies are so cute. I can't imagine anyone not wanting to take care of them. While I was holding baby Afiqah and feeding her, I felt like crying but I didn't because I didnt want to upset the other kids. I felt so much love in the house. Ustazah Sharimah love those kids like her own. She is such an amazing woman.

My friends and I managed to collect and buy RM4,500 worth of groceries like rice, milo, biscuits, formulas, disposable diapers etc. Thank you to those who had donated money, books and food items. Thanks to Dzu who gave such lovely cupcakes. I'm sure the kids enjoyed eating them during berbuka.

I have a feeling this would be my last post until after raya so I want to take this opportunity to wish all of my beautiful bloggers friends out there Selamat Hari Raya AidilFitri and Maaf Zahir Batin.
Bila beraya tu please be moderate (I'm reminding myself too here). I know it's a celebration after fasting for a month but tak payah go overboard. Ingatlah those who are not as lucky as you like those who do not have parents or children to celebrate Hari Raya with. Remember those who celebrates Raya without smorgasbords of food on their table so do not waste any food. Remember those who will celebrate Raya with tears in their eyes and not joy and laughter.
To those driving back to kampung, please drive safely. Have a safe journey to and fro. Speed and tiredness kills.

Of An Unfortunate Son

Hang mai byr duit aku skrg n amik blk benda2 hang.

Lps tu aku tak mau tgk muka hang, muka bini hang n anak hang.

Hangpa boleh pi mampus

or

Oi babi! Bayar balik hutang aku

No one deserved to get these kinda text messages. Especially from a father. As a son/daughter, I know one is not supposed to talk back or kurang ajar to their parents but when a father says this to his son, what else is the son supposed to do? Does the son deserve this kind of treatment for only borrowing RM100 from his father? I don't think so.

You're the worst father ever.

God, pls forgive me. Sesungguhnya aku berpuasa...

I was tagged by Guile and it is long overdue. Sorry Dear. But here goes…
5 Things In My Handbag
  • Hand-pressing flash light
Went for buka puasa at Mohsin in Tmn Tun last night (my god! I forgot how delicious roti taj mahal and mumtaj taste like) with few old friends. 10 mins before buka, this salesguy came to our table wanting to sell flashlights. We were about to wave our hands to say that we don’t want any when Fareen asked how much it cost. U know la these salespeople. Once you asked how much then they’ll never leave the table. The guy said it was RM10 per piece. Fareen haggled (seriously) and told the guy he wants it for RM9 coz he can get it around that price somewhere else. The guy agreed and all of us ended up buying 1. Fareen bought 2. I don’t how what he’s gonna do with 2 flashlights. The flashlight is pretty cool though. Can keep it in the car for emergency I guess. Plus I don’t need to buy any batteries. I wonder how long it can last. I wonder why I still have it in my handbag instead of putting it in my car’s glove compartment. Iskh! Have to springclean my handbag soon.

Happy 2nd Birthday

Happy 2nd Birthday Pruplelillies…
Celebrated the birthday of my blog last week on 14th Sept...How come I missed it? Damn Facebook!

Pejam celik pejam celik, Ms. Cosmic GurL has been blogging for 2 years already. How time flies. My very
first post . Ntah apa-apa tah I tulis.

I remembered Javard urging me to start blogging 2 years ago. And he is also responsible for getting me hooked on Facebook. U la invite I suruh masuk. Now I sleep, drink, eat (oopss break fast) dengan Facebook. Sampai termimpi-mimpi Zombie and Werewolf. Hehehe…

In the past 2 years I’ve made friends and have met up with some pretty nice and fun bunch of bloggers like Eddy Purnama aka Javard (well, technically I met u first before I started blogging), Superdzu, Pijah, Leen Ashburn, Tiena, Suzie, Crash Test Mom (formerly known as Shopper Mom), Trueblue, Desparil, Sheryl Alexis, Drama Diva, Wegra, FnG, Cik PMS, Alex, Agus, Ifzan, Mal, theWailer and Bertique. Guys, I appreciate the friendship. Really I do...

Remember bloggers like Oreos, Ylanda, Pseudo, Zed, MIV, Zuhri and Kaisersoze? I wonder what happened to them and how they’re doing. Some have stopped blogging and some have made their blog private. I’m feeling very nostalgic here so bear with me.

Now I’ve made some new friends in blogland like UBA, Aphroditekuzz, XOXO, Dia, Theta, Guile, Diamond Baby, Amy, Jazzmatazzed, Sweettooth, Akula, Da Winged Acrophobic, Dade Ghost, Azer Mantessa, Katakbesar, Ardy, East43Street, Nour and others that I’ve linked to my blog. I do appreciate you guys visiting and leaving comments in here.

As I blow the candles celebrating my 2nd Birthday, my wishes are...

  • To make more new friends in blogland.
  • To not get tired of blogging.
  • To not offend anyone with my writings.
  • For people not to find me long-winded and whiny. And even if they do, I don’t care coz it’s my blog.

So Happy Birthday to me. May there be many more to come *Smile*

p/s : Whatever happened to Hobo?

Pp/s : Welcome back X-Eyed Jules! Glad to have you back!

Of Stubborn Dad and Orang Bunians

Why do you think men, as they get older, they become more stubborn?

I’m talking about my dad. Don’t get me wrong. I love my dad but sometimes…ARGGGHHH!!!

My dad has kidney problems. It’s quite serious because he has to go for dialysis 3 times a week. It all started with a toothache. He had it for a while but refuse to go to the dentist to have it pulled out. To stop the pain, he took more than 10 tablets of ponstan per day. Which means in a week, he would’ve popped in 70 tablets of ponstan or maybe more?! The doctor said that was the cause of his kidney problem. Ponstan overdose. To avoid feeling the pain from the toothache, he had inadvertently jeopardised his kidney. He hates dialysis. He says it makes him weak all the time. I sympathise with him but what else can he do? My mom suggested kidney transplant but he said it’s too long a wait. He wants new kidneys NOW.

A few days back my dad’s cousin called him and told him there is this guy who can give him new kidneys but the guy is Tangkak. My dad got all excited and ask my mom to accompany him to Tangkak. I could strangle my dad’s cousin for telling my dad about this and getting him all excited. GRRRRR!!!

So 2 days ago, my parents drove down to Tangkak, Johor. My dad said his cousin told him that there is this guy who is like a shaman doctor and allegedly he can replace any organs in your body which is defective and you only have to pay the guy RM308.10. Does it make sense? Can’t be so cheap right? My parents went there to see whether this guy is for real coz my dad said that he would ask the guy to replace both his kidneys. When I asked my dad where would this guy get 2 healthy kidneys coz u cant just pluck a kidney out of thin air to which my dad answered,

“From orang bunian I think”.

“And you are okay with getting new kidneys from orang bunian?” Kang orang bunian tu mintak balik kidney dia camner?” I asked my dad.

“The guy is like a doctor. He was quoting all medical lingo and was telling us what is wrong with your mom’s backbone and my kidney. The guy also said he could fix my vision so I don’t have to wear glasses anymore. For RM308.10 he can replace any internal organs yang rosak like pancreas, liver, heart. Even doctors go to see him with their patients”.

EEEEKKKKKKKK!!! For real ah? Why do we need doctors la if this guy can fix everything??!!! Plus anyone can quote medical mumbo jumbo if they had looked it up on the internet!

Haiyooo…my dad ni kan so gullible tau. He tends to believe all this hocus pocus. How la to tell him not to believe all this? Sigh…

Seperti Ketam Mengajar Anaknya Berjalan Lurus...

I went to Fatty Crab in Taman Megah with fellow bloggers cum good eating buddies on Merdeka Day last week. It was a very messy dinner but we had loads of fun. Si Wegra rupanya tak reti makan ketam. So Agus and I had to ketuk the ketams for her with the mallet. Hehehe..bertuah punya budak!
We ordered the fried chicken wings (sorry no pics taken coz we were too hungry and terus wallop the chicken once it arrived!) which was yummy. Ntah apa rempah dia taruk but sedap ah...
The we ordered the fish...Picture below. Errmmm...we were still hungry but I managed to take a pic of the fish coz it was staring at me. Scary looking fish but yummy nevertheless. Agus siap makan the head kay! By the time we were finished, tinggal tulang jer. Kepala pun takder.

Check out the CLAW Pijah Ketam is holding!

Things I Wish I Knew

  • I wish I knew sooner how inconsiderate one of my schoolmates would be so I could go back in time like 20 years ago and never make an effort to be nice to her! It amazes me how someone could say hurtful things without thinking. Then when we point it out to her, she would apologise profusely, but after that she would continue to say hurtful things again. Memang tak makan saman betul. Argghh!!!

  • I wish I knew how to sew so I could sew my own baju raya and not depend on incompetent tailors who would tell me the very last minute that she couldn’t take anymore orders

  • I wish I knew who stole all of my mom’s jewelleries from her drawer so I could beat that person up for making my mom upset and cried thinking about the jewelleries that she bought with her hard-earned money! I hope you rot in hell, you thief!!

  • I wish I knew how different my life would’ve been if I had studied overseas. My friend Noobs is in UK now for work and she’s telling me how much she misses it. The last time she was in UK was when she was studying there. Here I am wishing that I am in her place. I tell myself I have to go visit UK & US once before I die. InsyaAllah.

  • I wish I knew for sure whether my nephew, Hareez could see them “makhluk halus” or ghosts because sometimes out of the blue he would say, “Auntie, ada hantu kat belakang”. Then he would smile. Creeps me out everytime!!! His mom and his granddad could see “things” too.

  • I can’t wait till tomorrow. I love fireworks and I know this year there’s going to be a huge Merdeka celebration. Plus, I am also anticipating “Ketam Gumuks” dinner with some of my blogger friends tomorrow. Yup, it’s going to be a good weekend.

    Happy Independence Day, everyone!

I Wanna Sex You Up

Sometimes I wonder if it’s possible to have too much of sex…or too little of it…

The above statement was made because a friend told me that she hadn’t had sex with her husband for about a month now or maybe longer than that. I don’t think the husband is having an affair because he’s not that type. Don’t ask me which types have affairs because I wouldn’t know but I think I know the husband pretty well. He really adores her. That’s why it’s hard to believe when I found out about the no sex thingy. She said that the husband comes back home pretty late everyday because the husband works as a cameraman with one of the esteemed television station and has to go outstation a lot too. So when he comes back he’s pretty tired to do anything else. She says that she would actually try to entice her husband by wearing sexy nighties but tak jalan jugak. The husband buat dunno jer. Is it possible? She's also frustrated because they're trying to have kids (they've been married for almost 5 years but no kids) but if the husband won't get jiggy with it then how to have kids?

Maybe I’m over-generalising it here but don’t men love sex? I mean I know a guy who pounced on his wife every chance he gets even though he’s tired.

Ehem..bak kata orang tua-tua..kucing mana tak makan ikan? Hehehe...

Of Good Company, Good Food and Good Concert!

I had a really good weekend. After being emotional for the past few days I was happy to go on this roadtrip to Awana Baiduri which is next to Awana Kijal, T'ganu.

Being me, I'm always prepared for everything. Hubby thought it was weird of me to bring the mosquito repellant and yoko yoko but hey! U never know when you're gonna need it so better be safe than sorry. So hubby and I left for Kuantan around 10 am and we convoyed with 2 other cars. It was a fun roadtrip coz my friend's hubby got us a walkie talkie each and we were yakking non-stop in the car. So tak mengantuk sangatlah drive. Bukan I drive pun. Heheh...

Reached another friend's house in Kuantan at 12.30pm where she cooked chicken rice for for us for lunch. Yummylicious and memang we all kena spoil abis lah. Asyik makan jer.

We lepak2 at her house and prayed and started our journey to Awana Baiduri around 2.30pm. On the way we stopped at this gerai called "Nafisah" where I had the most delicious "sata" (made from fish) ever! I mean I'm not really a fan of Kelantanese delicacies because they tend to be sweet but this sata is sweet and spicy! The right combination for me.

A very burnt looking "sata" but it tasted good nonetheless! And why do they call it keropok sagu instead of keropok lekor I wonder?

As soon as we reached Awana around 5pm we unloaded everything from the car and start cooking already. I siap bawak oven and another friend brought an electric grill kay coz we were told that we couldn't do the BBQ on the beach.
Good food, good company...what else could anyone ask for?

On the way back we stopped at one of those shops along the road to get some sotong and ikan kering for my mom. Rambang mata tengok all those things hanging from the ceiling of the shop. Hehehe...

p/s : I went to Gwen Stefani's concert last night. It was awesome! awesome! awesome! That woman is soo adorable and so energetic. Who would've thought Gwen Stefani has a Malaysian connection huh? The papers reported that Gavin Rosdale's stepmom is a Malaysian. Kira adalah bau-bau bacang skit...
