U thinka me skoopid ka?

I just received the email below in my gmail account. Like seriously??? Hangpa ingat cheq bodo piang ka?
First of all, anything from Africa besides Apartheid and Nelson Mandela is dodgy.
Secondly I've never heard of Shell Foundation.
And thirdly, ingat senang2 ka cheq nak bagi cheq punya personal details?

Dear Shell Beneficiary,

Shell Foundation wishes to notify you of the just concluded ONLINE promotion held on the 10th of August in its Shell House, Southern Africa.

During the mid-2007 Shell canvassed the views of people and organizations in over 40 countries that unequivocally agreed that Shell can extend its Social Responsibilities and promotions to individuals worldwide by an unbiased selection of winners through a Random selection of winners.

Shell Foundation has no other way to get to the least individual in the world than adopting a Random Selection of e-mail addresses from e-mail users worldwide. Therefore a draw was conducted during our annual Promotions held in Johannesburg, South Africa through a random selection of e-mail addresses from an exclusive list of 159,504,231 e-mail addresses of individuals and Corporate bodies picked by an advanced automated random e-mail address search from the internet in all the countries where Shell Operates which is a part of our social responsibility to our business environment. However, no tickets were sold but all e-mail addresses were assigned to different ticket numbers for representation and privacy.

After this automated computer ballot, your e-mail address emerged as the 64th winner from 87 winners in the Second category for the (3rd) third-prize with the following data:

Ref Number: SHFSA/941OYI/02/WW
Batch Number: 12/26/0034

Your prize falls under our Southern Africa Sub-Regional Office in Johannesburg and has been insured with your e-mail address and will be transferred to you by our Affiliate Bank in South Africa upon meeting the requirements, statutory obligations, verifications, validations and satisfactory report by our accredited Agent. I wonder why many such scam/phishing claims to be from Africa. Do they think something coming from that part of the world enticing, especially an offer to give out money? If anything, it is the continent needing monetary help the most. Why give money to citizens of other nations when yours are in dying need, literally!

It would be more believable coming from the oil rich middle east. Even then, would anyone believe they could be that generous? Fair even?

I get the impression the African scammers think people in other parts of the world are as dumb as their own. What a sickening insult! I wish interpol steps up and nab the bastards, wherever they come from.

XOXO - Nak hidup beb! Hidup dgn menipu org..mmg tak berkat dunia akhirat

UBA - Sbb yang buat scam ni yatim piatu kot so mak bapak tak ajar. Ahaks!

Agus - Exactly!!! I mean, they think we're idiots and a greedy lot. Thats why they think it's easy to cheat Malaysians. It also doesnt help when there are gullible people out there who falls for it

Interpol has got bigger issues to deal with like terrorism so I dont think they'll be looking into these scams any time soon

Diahariss - Mmg rubbish pun..i dpt terus delete jer. Tak kuasa akak!

Shell - Selagi ada peluang nak buat duit cepat selagi tulah ada fools who would fall for it

CTM - Not only lawyers beb but politicians and even ministers as well..tengoklah swiss cash punya scheme tu..

Every day I clear spam like these. Jenuh clicking and deleting. Tempted many times to reply and cram in as many expletives I could in an email. But that would make mine another spam mail. Some are still falling for these. Sad but greed abounds. You vocalized much of my anguish. Thanks, sistah!
